OIL PLATFORM "PILTUN-ASTOKHSKOYE-B"

«PA- B» is the largest platform, established on the project «Sakhalin−2».

The base of the platform is a gravitational type ferroconcrete base with four pillars, on which there are the upper structure of the platform with process facilities. The southeastern base is used as a well site, northeast support is designed for the offshore pipeline risers/pipes with curvature of large radius and the remaining two supports are used to install pumps and tanks. On the top structures of the platform there are placed the chisel equipment and the equipment for separation of liquid hydrocarbons, storage of chemicals and the residential unit.
The main working areas are closed, they provide temperature control and ventilation.
The equipment located outdoors is equipped with means of ice protection.
Specific platform settings, as well as severe natural conditions to the development by specialists of group of companies «OPB» an integrated approach to issues of security and optimization solutions in the field of fire safety on «PA-B».

The performance of the PA-B is more than 70 000 barrels (11.1 thousand m3) of oil and 92 million standard cubic feet (2.9 million m3) of associated gas per day.

The specialists of «OPB» performed the following work:

• Development of the special technical requirements (STR) for design and construction in terms of ensuring fire safety;
• Maintenance and technical and scientific support in developing the design and working documentation, developed by other organizations, including foreign companies, in terms of requirements of fire safety;
