THE UNIQUE CHILDREN'S THEATER BUILDING CONSTRACTED IN 1979 on a taylor-made architecture PROJECT: A. VELIKANOV, V. KRASILNIKOV.
The theatre’s building belongs to the Federal state budgetary institution «Moscow state academic Children’s musical theatre n.a. N. I. Sats» on the right of operative management on the basis of certificate of state registration and it is Federal property.
The building of the Children’s musical theatre of different height (from 4 to 8), is located in the Central part of Vernadsky Prospekt. There are two halls: Large hall for 1136 seats with three scenes: one main and two lateral and a Small hall for 300 seats.
The theater building is the size of the axes A/7 44 123 m, axis A G/7 18 m in the axes of the G/7 15 24 m, G/15 24 m, the axes of the K/1 15 27 m, the axes of the N/1 15 m and axles N/a 1 153 44 m and axes A N/a 44 57 m, four-storey with basement floor.
The theater building has a clear division of the floors according to the functional areas:
- — Spectator area with a Large auditorium and lobby are located in the axes A K/7 37 on two levels.
- — Administrative zone is located in the axes A H/42 44 at five levels including a basement floor.
- — Production and warehouse area is located in the axes K N/1 42 mainly on two levels including basement.
Space planning decisions
The existing building of the Children’s musical theatre of variable height (from 3 to 5 floors, the fifth floor — technical and one underground floor (including a three-level underground hold of the scene). The Children’s musical theater has two halls: Large hall for 1100 seats with three scenes: one main and two lateral and a Small hall for 300 seats Also there are rehearsal spaces, industrial and warehouse premises, facilities engineering services, administrative offices and dressing rooms.
The building of Children’s musical theater has rectangular shape with a basement floor. The roof is flat, not exploited, with the protrusions of the rotunda in one wing of the building and a stage box in the other.
The lobby of the building intended for the exit of spectators from the Large hall has a double-height space with a height of 10 m, the volume of which is at the level of 3,600 located in the mezzanine in the form of an open gallery.
The height of the floors of the office building is 3 m.
The height of the industrial warehouse part of the building is different and accepted depending on the technological processes provided for in theatre. The height of the basement floor with technical premises variable from 2.5 to 4.2 m. The height of the basement of a stage box is approximately 8.7 m.
Working gallery, stage boxes are located at the following elevations: +9,450, +12,250, +14,800, +17,900, +20,850, +24,100, +27,000. The technical floor of stage box is located at elev. +30,680. Catwalks are not available.
The specialists of «OPB» performed the following work:
- Development of the design documentation section “Fire Safety Measures” (FSM);
- Development of the special technical requirements (STR) for design and construction in terms of ensuring fire safety;
- Justification for safe people evacuation in case of fire;
