THE KHARYAGA FIELD IS LOCATED IN THE NORTH-WEST OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IN THE NENETS AUTONOMOUS DISTRICT (NAD) AND IS A PART OF THE TIMAN-PECHORA BASIN.
The Kharyaga field is a part of the Timan-Pechora basin and is about 60 km from the Arctic circle in the permafrost region.
The field was discovered in 1970 and 58 wells have been contoured as a result of drilling by 1982.
Development and construction of the field:
The field is mastered step by step. Oil is transported due to the state system of the main oil pipelines, moreover 100% of produced oil is exported.
Oil is transported due to the state system of the main oil pipelines for a distance of 2600 km from the port of Primorsk on the Baltic sea near St. Petersburg. 100% of produced oil is exported.
In the implementation of Stage 1 of the development of the Kharyaga field, i.e., the stage before extraction, the oil extraction was carried out from the Central part of the deposits of the three existing wells. Stage 2 was started in 2000 with the aim of increasing production volumes and commencement of water injection. Insufficient number of wells and the capacity of the main pipeline restricted production volumes, which currently amount to 20,000 barrels. of oil/day.
